| ID | Unit | Available After |
|---|---|---|
CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_YEARS | years | 30 seconds |
CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_PROBS | % | 30 seconds |
Definition
CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_PROBS is an array containing the subject's likelihood of experiencing
their first heart attack or stroke within the next many years defined in CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_YEARS.
For example, if CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_YEARS[2] is 15 and CVD_MULTI_YEAR_RISK_PROBS[2]
is 45 then the subject has a 45% likelihood of an event in the next 15 years.
Background
Multi-year CVD risk predict an individual’s likelihood (in percent) of developing cardiovascular disease in a time window ranging from 1 to 20 years into the future. Cardiovascular disease is defined as heart attack, stroke, or coronary heart disease (CHD) death. It does not apply to people who have already had a heart attack or stroke.
